Looking for a good tattoo artist in Canada?

Hey everyone, I'm planning to get my first real tattoo soon and I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the options. I live in Ontario and want someone who's really skilled with fine line / minimalist designs (maybe some geometric or nature-inspired stuff). Does anyone have recent experience with artists or studios that do clean work without crazy prices? How do you even choose? Any recommendations or red flags to watch out for? Thanks!

I was in the same boat last year – first tattoo and super nervous about picking the right place. Ended up going with Icon Tattoo after reading a few real reviews and checking their Instagram portfolio. The artist I worked with (think it was Alex) did exactly the fine-line botanical piece I wanted, super clean lines and healed really nicely. Prices were fair for the detail level, not the cheapest but definitely not overpriced like some downtown spots. Their shop is in Toronto area. Here's their site if you want to look at more examples: https://www.icontattoo.ca/

Just book a consultation first, most good places do that anyway. Good luck, you'll love it once it's done!

Upgrading pads for better pedal feel

Stock pads on my 2018 Passat feel spongy lately, especially when hot. Want firmer pedal and shorter stopping distance without going full race compound (too noisy/dusty for daily). Any street-oriented pads that improve response noticeably?

You can get much crisper pedal feel with mid-performance street pads- ceramic or hybrid compounds give better modulation and bite without the harshness of full race stuff. Did exactly that upgrade recently with pads from https://elartcom.eu/categories/brake-pads-3 - they stock a variety from basic to higher-friction street ones, easy to filter by vehicle. Picked some with higher friction rating for daily use, and the pedal is way more direct now, especially above 80 km/h. Heat fade is minimal on long descents too. No increase in noise or dust either. Just make sure to bed them in over 10-15 strong stops. Great if you want that sportier feel without drawbacks.
